We are so looking forward to seeing you on 21st September 2019. Let's make Nevis at Night a huge success so we can go on to grow the event and make a sustainable contribution to looking after the Nevis area.
We also want to make sure you are completely ready for the Light Up Ben Nevis walk! You should find everything you need here but if you have any questions please make sure you ask before the event by emailing us on hello@nevisatnight.com

BE PREPARED
Reaching the highest point in the UK is no mean feat, and to do it at night is even more of a challenge. This is why you will be accompanied by an experienced Mountain Leader all the way, with a maximum ratio of 1:10.
You should expect eight hours of walking on rough ground so some training beforehand will prepare you well.
Head torches are essential, but we will also light the way with light installations, reflectors and anything else we can get our hands on to make Ben Nevis glow!

RAISE SOME FUNDS
For Light Up Ben Nevis you have a fundraising target of £250. The cost of participation and in the event is £50 and the other £200 will go to The Nevis Fund. If you raise any more than £250 you can choose whether the extra goes to The Nevis Fund or to a charity of your choice.
You will have plenty of time to reach your fundraising target as we will ask you to reach certain goals throughout the year:

TAKE PART IN LIGHT UP BEN NEVIS
You'll find the event base at the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre. See map below. Please arrive half an hour before your start time and come to the tent to register. There are toilets available at the Visitor Centre. Make sure you have had plenty to eat during the day and that you are well hydrated.
Your start time will depend on how long you told us it will take you to reach the summit. We will try to get back for midnight for the feast!
Each group will have up to 20 people and will have two mountain leaders looking after the group. This is a shared experience and we ask you to stay with the group and enjoy the company of the others you are with. If you experience any problem please let one of the group leaders know straight away.
If you can, it would be great to see you in your team colours! Your group leaders will be very easily identifiable by their colour!
We aim to get you back down at midnight for a feast. However, it might take longer than expected since walking in the dark is trickier than walking in the daytime. Don't worry, we will look after you no matter how long it takes you to complete the walk.

ACCOMMODATION
The best place to stay is at Glen Nevis Holidays. The camp site is a very short walk from the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre and there are self-catering cottages and caravans available as well. You should arrive at the camp site in the afternoon of Saturday 22nd, set up you tent, get some dinner and walk over to the event base ready to start the Light Up Ben Nevis Walk.
Please stay close to Fort William after the event. Driving any distance so late at night after walking up Ben Nevis will make you very tired and not at your best for driving.
